Good numbers for CHUM and CBC Radio One 25-54. First time I have ever seen Ici Musique show up in any Toronto ratings. That is the french version of CBC Music is it not? Interesting that they would show a 1.4 share.
Offline
It is. It's got a really tiny CUME, but I guess a meter ended up in the hands of a superfan.

This article goes into a little bit more of a demographic breakdown.

Not bad! CHUM has actually improved I noticed. They have I believe a new music coordinator aswell for the past year.

I noticed that the CHUM television ads have been saying "Toronto's Favourite Radio Station." Could this be from a best of Toronto poll? Has anyone seen what the morning show ratings were from the latest survey?

CHUM's morning show is #1 no matter how you reasonably slice it.

This year their MD took on Virgin as well, so it would make sense that they've hired someone to assist her with both.

Thanks for the info. Aaron. Looks like Jamar teamed up with Marilyn is working out well for the station. CHUM's music is pretty much on target for the audience they attract and looking to grow.

CHUM has done an amazing job at transitioning from R&M to M&J and whatever they have planned next. Their marketing seems to have been quite effective, too.
And you mention the music being on-point -- so they're 3/3 in the magic combo of Music, Marketing, and Mornings that are usually the key to success.

Wow, interesting morning show figures. Had no idea AM 740 and GNR 640 would be so low, but I guess since it is 25-54. And Radio One on top by such a large a margin is surprising.

Radio One has a relatively small (to their share) audience, but for the most part they never turn it off.

Never seen a station at 0.0 before. How can a station have zero listeners?

It may be an error (ie intended to show 0.1) or it may mean that the station simply paid to be in the book, but honestly, no one tuned in long enough for the tone to count it as listening. (ie dial scanners or button pushers)
How long does a station have to be tuned in to be counted by the PPM?

Hi Radio Aaron That is great you were able to find morning drive numbers. Any chance you could could post them for the more important Spring and Fall periods as well. Afternoon drive would be interesting to see if you have access to those figures.

Good on BOOM 973 aswell, theve been holding it up there for awhile.
CHFI's ratings will go up come xmas time.
It also helps that CHUM plays a lot of music per hour which keeps people listening.

It's share of tuning, not a listener count. So while Elmnt certainly has "listeners" - meaning people that listened (well...heard) to them at some point, the combination of how many actually did with how long they listened didn't add up to enough to round up to a 0.1.

Honestly, how is this measured? Never in my life had someone called me to ask what station I listen to. How does one know id be listening to lets say CHFI for an hour everyday or the whole day.
