CBC, makes a renewed commitment to be more diverse.

There have been some interesting discussions at the Banff World Media Festival this past week...from women in the industry, to sexual discrimination and misconduct, to content shifts and diversity and inclusion...

Yesterday, the CBC announced a commitment to have a more diverse cross-section of content providers, from our nations Indigenous or First Nations People, to the LGBTQ community and more women artists...

The business is changing, because, growing up as a 70's kid, radio and television were done by mostly white men and some women...but now our times reflect the new voices, the stories that need to be told, building deeper understanding of our journey's with one another.

Here is the commitment that the CBC is taking as per the Banff World Media Festival Events...

Comments and views always welcome...on this shift happening in the media landscape...

Re: CBC, makes a renewed commitment to be more diverse.

I guess we're going to see more comical race and sex exclusionary job postings from a company who siphons money from everyone. Sadly, our clown courts would probably defend them.

I'm already raising an eyebrow at them bragging about the success of a "gender parity" program that resulted in 62% of their shows being run by women. Last time I checked, that doesn't reflect Canada's population and no one would boast about having a similar percentage of their shows run by men.
