Everyone in Toronto complains about our winters. But no one has the right to complain about that season like the people of Buffalo. In 2022 the city suffered a blizzard that, even by Buffalo standards, was one of the worst storms in recent history.
Now a Buffalo Bills quarterback of all people, has executive produced a documentary about that disaster and the people who survived it - taking shelter in a local McDonald's that somehow still had power. It sounds absurd, but for the survivors of winter weather's worst, it was a period they'll never forget.
Not sure if this will end up on HBO Canada, but given how close we are to the border and the support of the Bills - which figures into the story - the 36-minute film might be of interest to those who remember it here. (I well recall watching special all-day coverage on Buffalo TV stations and listening to WBEN-AM, which abandoned its political talk and did nothing but news and updates, even saving lives.)
"The Buffalo Miracle" debuts on November 24th. It remains to be seen if this will come to HBO or Crave here (since HBO Max is not available in Canada) but you can check out the trailer below.

Speaking of streaming services, you may need a VPN set to the U.S. to watch some of the new content debuting on PlutoTV. But at least it's free and you don't have to sign up for anything. See if any of this tempts you.
Pluto TV just got a bunch of new free movies, shows, and live channels thanks to the Skydance merger

One of the best reasons to get a VPN. The US Pluto has Green Acres. The Canadian Pluto does not.
