McDonald's Bizarre Giveway - A Mini Radio That Plays A Song Snippet

This is only available in Germany and of course, it's not a real radio. But one of the giveways when you order certain meals at the Golden Arches in Deutschland is a mini toy-like radio (five different colours and sizes no less) featuring hits form the 2000s.

"When you order select combo meals at Germany’s McDonald’s restaurants, you’ll get one of five different miniature radios with your food. Each radio is styled after a retro boombox and, when you push the button, they play a 30-second snippet of a song that was popular during the decade."

You can see which tunes are included in the pic below.

There's no word of whether this promotion will ever come to North America, but this one is obviously aimed at adults - would a Gen Z-er even know what a boombox is?

I am familiar with all of those songs except the one by Cro. Not really a fan of any of them, but I lost interest in top 40 radio in the very early 90's.

Good to see two Canadian artists, Avril Lavigne and Justin Bieber, represented in this McDonald’s promotion. It seems like more of a Japanese promo than German to me!
