300 Cdn. Radio Stns. To Run 12-Hr. "Day Of Reconciliation" Programming
If you turn on the radio next Wednesday, Sept. 30th, you won't be able to avoid hearing it - a 6 AM-6 PM series of specials devoted to the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. Juno Award winning singer William Prince will host the day long event, which will see vignettes air on over 300 Canadian radio stations, including those in Toronto, Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa and Windsor.
Among the local stations signed up: CFRB, CKFM, CFTR, CHFI, CFIQ, and CHUM-FM. The full nationwide station list, which you can see here, will give you an idea of just how widespread this is.
It's the 6th year in a row for the radio special that has been growing every year.

Will be a long day in my delivery truck. This one doesn't have a CD player. FM only and not much to choose from in the North. I don't have enough gigs on my cell plan to run my phone all day on bluetooth. No offense to any Indigenous person reading this.

Most stations will be regular programming if it's similar to last year. They will highlight short vignettes throughout the day of indigenous stories and interviews. It gives some stations that have little content during the day and no announcer something other than just music and commercials.
