An Old Voice Resurfaces On AM640

Ben Mulroney just did a 15 minute interview with the spokesperson for the Toronto Downtown West Business Improvement Assn., about whether the World Cup brought in much commerce for the stores the group represents.

The name of the guy they were talking to? Chris Chreston. Yes, THAT Chris Chreston, who used to work as a producer and host at AM640.

His LinkedIn page indicates he was the Senior Communications Advisor for the City Of Markham for just under 2 years, before joining his new employer four months ago.

Nice to hear an old voice again from the days when 640 was a very different radio station.

Re: An Old Voice Resurfaces On AM640

Speaking of LinkedIn, I noticed on Chris Chreston's page an endorsement from Heather Purdon. If the name sounds familiar, it's because she spent over 13 years as a producer at AM640 and if memory serves, she was behind the scenes for both Mike Stafford and John Oakley's shows.

What's she doing now? She's especially busy with the upcoming mayoral election. Her new job is as office manager for Brad Bradford, one of the leading candidates challenging Olivia Chow for the mayor's chair. She's been there just under two years. If Bradford somehow wins in November, I suspect she'll be even busier than she is now.

They should be paying for their airtime like any honest advertiser.

From wht I have read and heard, bars and restaurants were doing a booming business. Other vendors? Not so much because non soccer fans would stay away in droves on game days.
