New Subcarrier Appears On Buffalo's Channel 4.2 - & It's A Good One

Those with TV antennas know all about subcarriers - those stations that piggyback on the signal of a major broadcast outlet. For many years, WIVB only had one of them - 4.2 was occupied by QVC, an all shopping channel that is currently having financial difficulties

Not sure when or why it changed, but there's a new occupant of that precious dial real estate - and it's a good one. Cozi TV airs reruns of some old TV favourites 24 hours a day and you'll definitely know the titles of the series it runs.

There's the original "Frasier," "Columbo," "The Nanny," "Married With Children," and "The Munsters" - just to name a few. Interesting to see Murdoch Mysteries listed very early on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Cozi is a 24/7 station and you can watch it now on Channel 4.2 out of Buffalo for free.

Here's the latest schedule.

Re: New Subcarrier Appears On Buffalo's Channel 4.2 - & It's A Good One

COZI  is a FTA (Free to Air) channel owned by NBC...

Cozi has been on WIVB 4.2 for the last 3 to 4 weeks, mostly during the daytime, and evening hours.  QVC was still running overnight.

Probably has something to due with the recent Chapter 11 filing by QVC and its owners...   or, maybe the contract with Sinclair, NextStar, DeathStar is coming to an end and it will be available / consolidated onto only one OTA outlet in the Buffalo/Niagara market?

With online shopping / e-commerce being firmly established for the past 10 - 15 years (or more)  you have to wonder how long, or why these TV Shopping channels still exist?  Pickup your phone or tablet and shop for stuff to your hearts content...

Personally, I think METV  and AntennaTV have a better lineup. The only show on Cozi that interests me is Frasier. But certainly an improvement from a shopping channel.
