Jessica Mulroney formally iced out of family dynasty

Someone has their pr team on speed dial. They are separated and are getting divorced, why would she expect to be in Mila's Christmas card.

Canadian stylist and influencer Jessica Mulroney has been frozen out of the Christmas card sent by the Mulroneys, her in-laws. The card, seen by Page Six, was sent by ex-first lady Mila Mulroney — wife of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, who passed away in 2024 — to dozens of family and friends around the world.  It features Mila in a long rust-colored gown surrounded by 19 family members, including her four adult children and their families. TV personality Ben stands next to he and Mulroney’s twin teenage boys, Brian and John and their daughter, Ivy, who is 12 years old.Speaking of Jessica, a source sniffed: “They didn’t like the Pepsi from the get go,” referring to a slang expression for a social climber from her hometown of Montreal, where Pepsi reportedly outsells Coca Cola. “The Mulroneys had enough about her using other people to spread rumors about her separation from Ben.“They are in for a difficult divorce,” noted the source. The couple had been married for 16 years.

Obligatory note that the prime minister’s wife is never the “first lady.”

I was always under the impression that the slang term "pepsi" in Qubec was used to reference Quebecois Francophones and not in a good way

Have I learned something new today then?

Or not?

And FYI Jessica Mulroney in her previous life was Jessica Brownstein

She grew up in a successful Montreal family, founders of the Brown's Shoe Company

Every time I see bullshit, celebrity family drama like this aired out in public I feel for the kids...imagine how they feel seeing their family's dirty laundry up on the line for all to see...and how their friends and schoolmates might react...never mind the pending nasty divorce, Ben's polarizing MAGA style politics, and the botoxed socialite lifestyle they've grown up in...but I'm guessing they're used to it by now.

Thank you. I agree completely. The USA has overwhelmingly impacted our society, for better or worse, for far too long. Using the 'First Lady' descriptor is just another indicator.

Re: Jessica Mulroney formally iced out of family dynasty

Not a fan of Ben or Jessica but this is such a non-story. A) who cares? b) why would an estranged wife show up at her soon to be exes family gathering or be on the family Christmas card? Even if the separation/divorce is amicable going to a large family gathering would be awkward. Sure, it happens but who would be surprised when it doesn't?

Jessica Mulroney may be an elitist snob (and the other Mulroneys aren't?) but if anyone cares her family is wealthier than the Mulroneys and has been wealthier for more generations so if anything the Mulroneys are the arrivistes.

Also "Pepsi" is a derogatory term for francophone Quebecois (or was 50 years ago), it wouldn't be used to describe a Quebec anglophone. Whoever fed the NY Post that slang either got it wrong or made it up.

Please excuse me. Now that I've defended Jessica Mulroney I have to go gargle with battery acid.
