I was sad to learn that Marty Galin of Marty and Avrum (the Food Guys) passed away in December. Marty and Avrum were a staple on Toronto radio and later TV as Marty and Avrum the Food Guys, hosting food shows on Talk 640, CFRB, CHFI, and a TV show on OMNI-TV in the 90s and 2000s.

I recommend watching his memorial service from about the 45 minutes mark. It's actually quite moving and entertaining as Avrum confesses that when they started out - they knew nothing about food (or radio)! They got the show purely because of Marty's personality, enthusiasm and charisma and learned on the job yet produced a very entertaining and informative show that many people still remember.
