Jays Fans Out of Luck If They Play NY

The Yankees have announced that playoff tickets will only be available through Ticketmaster for residents of NY, NJ, Pa and Ct. This also applies to the Wild Card Round so Red Sox fans are not pleased.

Yeah I heard so many Jays fans and Red Sox fans are pretty mad about that. I guess that’s why the Yankees are the Jays and Red Sox’s enemies.

Slow down, take a breath, Ticketmaster got caught selling tickets directly to scalpers and is now scrambling to correct illegal practices  The Justice Department, along with 30 state and district attorneys general, filed a civil antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation Entertainment Inc. and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Ticketmaster LLC (Live Nation-Ticketmaster) for monopolization and other unlawful conduct that thwarts competition in markets across the live entertainment industry. This includes sporting events

I was getting upset about this until I read that the Blue Jays have a similar policy and only sell tickets to the Toronto market, so it seems like a common practice? Not that I could afford it!

You know I saw that story last night, but I think the restriction isn't strictly limited to the Toronto market. Any Canadian resident can purchase tickets. The only way around is to go the Stubhub route.

We don't know who the Jays are playing yet, but we now know when it will be broadcast.

If it's the Red Sox, Saturday's game #1 will be at 1:08 PM. If it's the Yankees, the start time is 4:08 in the afternoon.

Regardless of team, game 2 on Sunday will have its first pitch at 4:08 PM.

Just stay home. Or go to a local bar and help the local economy.

Thanks for this.  I will definitely be watching the games on TV. It should be an exciting weekend.

It’s great to have something like this to look forward to, especially with all that is happening in the world, if you know what I mean. Let’s go Blue Jays!

Plus the fact that the late FOX DH NFL games aren't exactly exciting. 1. Washington/LA Chargers 2. Detroit/Cincinnati.
