I tuned into 680 news this morning to see how they were covering the changes at Canada Post and the strike. After traffic and weather they did have it as the lead story, but only 1 short story, no team coverage or wall to wall coverage.
I guess that shows how important Canada Post is to the GTA.

What's there to say? They're on strike and that's it.

And to the rest of Canada, for that matter.

I would assume that most of the media are simply "mailing it in"

The Canada Post Brain Trust has pissed the thing into oblivion. I'd be furious if I worked there. It's looking like End of Times.

Agreed. However, the way the media has presented this has made it sound like said Brain Trust had to wait for guidance from the government to make changes. If true, this baffles me. Governments tend to not be good at running a business. Just because it's a Crown Corporation makes it different somehow? What hogwash, it's a business.
Canada Post should've begun modernizing years ago, and should've been allowed to modernize as the Brain Trust saw fit, without having to wait on the-government-of-the-day's intervention.
Conversely, I see that CUPW insists on digging in its heels, which exacerbates the situation and potentially guarantees their demise. They are going to reject offers until they are ejected from employment full stop.
