GTA FM Station Looking For "Volunteer" Radio Hosts

Now here's an opportunity you don't see often - a local Toronto-area FM is looking for "volunteer" hosts to front a show on their station. But you'd better be familiar with hip hop, electronic, R&B and music in that genre to even be considered. The place willing to give amateurs a shot? The rarely mentioned (at least here) Vibe 105, the York University outlet.

"Are you someone with a passion for music, talk, and connecting with an audience? This is YOUR chance to shine behind the mic! Apply today and take the first step toward making the airwaves yours."

If you're game, the application form is on their website.

Re: GTA FM Station Looking For "Volunteer" Radio Hosts

I used to be on the air voluntarily at CHRY 105.5. I left before the flip to Vibe as the PD at the time wanted to reduce our show from two hours to one hour. Turns out I was one of the lucky ones as they ended up "firing" all their volunteer hosts anyway as soon as they made the change to Vibe. Funny they're now looking for volunteers again.

I used to help out in handling the pledge lines in the CHRY days.
I offered to help Vibe but suddenly they declared that it's not necessary because they have new revenue sources now.

Is York U involved at all? Who actually owns and runs the station?
