Just before the noon news today on 680 News, John Leatherby gave a shout out to Jack Miller of CJBQ Radio in Belleville, who retired yesterday after decades behind the mic.

Nice touch. I've heard Letherby inject some personality into his work, it's refreshing.
Some time last year, there was a California-related story and he began to work a whole bunch of The Mamas & The Papas song titles into the copy for the next couple segments; it was great and being a fan, I loved it. He only missed the pronunciation of Creeque Alley, which is pronounced "creaky" according to the band members.

I was an active DXer when Creeque Alley was a hit and I never heard one Top 40 DJ say "creaky". My point is: it seems to be an almost universal error by DJs, so I wouldn't knock Leatherby on such an obscure mistake.

Not intended to be a knock, just a fact. But yes, it is an incredibly common mispronunciation. Given the ball Letherby was running with, I was somewhat expecting him to nail it.
