Early Sunday mornings at work, I listen to Over Easy [The Softer Side of Classic Rock] on WCSX. There are almost no national spots on the show with the majority being from local Detroit area small businesses. In the middle of one the commercial breaks, I heard an ad from OPSEU whining about how awful the Ford Government is. My first reaction was why would any Canadian organization place an ad on a Detroit radio station. I realize WCSX probably has a great deal of Canadian listeners. The station currently ranks 7th in the market with a 5.1 share. However, the tax breaks for Canadian companies to advertise on American television and radio stations was eliminated decades ago. Then another thought occured to me. Could this have been a simsubbish ad inserted by Tune-in?

Listening on TuneIn - for the most part, only involves pre-rolls of Canadian ads. But more and more, I have noticed that if you listen to TuneIn for an hour or longer, the feed may be interrupted by the Canadian ads playing again. Usually there is the notification "welcome to tunein" when the program in progress is interrupted and the Canadian ads start to play. I get all of the annoying Canadian gambling ads....too many!

I am well aware of the "Welcome to Tune-in" intro where I am subjected to one and sometimes two Canadian ads. However, I had been listening to the station for a good 45 minutes and the OPSEU ad occured in the middle of a roughly three minute break of all Detroit area local ads. It stuck out like a sore thumb.

Did any Buffalo radio stations air Canadian ads as well? From what I remember I think only WKSE Kiss 98.5 aired a couple of Canadian ads like African Lion Safari etc. I could be wrong though.
