About that new Ryan Reynolds Tim Hortons commercial...

How many people seeing it do you think know what a "rider" is?

A rider is an add-on to the booking contract for a performer.
They can be very entertaining by themselves.
They also reveal a lot about the character of a celebrity.
Examples would be a demand that there be only raspberry flavoured Stoly vodka served in the dressing room.
That there be a fresh fruit plate kept chilled at all times.
That there be freshly lit floral scented insense from Thailand only.
That all furniture must be white.
That venue staff members must not address you or look you in the eye.
etc etc.

The only rider I'd want is Winona.

Re: About that new Ryan Reynolds Tim Hortons commercial...

Van Halen’s infamous contract rider stipulated all brown M&M’s were to be removed from the dressing room M&M bowls.
Merely a hilarious ploy to make sure promoters like Harvey and Corky were paying attention to the fine print.  Brown M&M’s in the bowl?  Looks like Mr. Promoter didn’t do his job…so what else did he skimp on when setting up the venue?

Some other legendary riders (if only for their prose):
Iggy and the Stooges
Foo Fighters
