I read today that Auston Matthews could be on the IR again for this mysterious upper body injury. This could potentially hurt the Leafs for the balance of the season.
The Raptors are having a challenging year and I feel they're losing interest, during the re-build and the Jays can't attract free agents if their lives depended on it.
You also have a low dollar and so costs to keep and sign players jumps by 30 percent. The bottom line is the future looks bleak for sports in this city and it does affect and is affecting broadcasting as we found out in a post on here about the FAN and TSN1050 thinking about a format change.
The Toronto FC also had a rough year too and to think they won it all in 2017.
I feel two saving graces are the World Juniors begin on Boxing Day and the Bills are doing amazing...
It will be interesting to see how future developments with Toronto's key teams go this year. The only team that has had success are the Argos, however, they aren't that relevant, yet they are a good news story.

I can see TSN1050 going before The Fan as BCE is doing worse than Rogers financially and really wants to unload their broadcasting properties. I agree with Muffaraw Joe and it’s tough being a sports fan in Toronto, nothing to cheer for of late.
I started watching the Raptors last night and again, I agree with Muffaraw Joe, they seem to have no interest in being there, and the Leafs on Saturday, what was that? Bring on the World Juniors, TSN does pretty good with that at least, as long as Canada is doing well! Mind you, TSN tv properties are rumoured to be up for sale, but I can’t think of who might buy them.

Well at least the Leafs now qualify for the playoffs. Actually winning a series is still a work in progress. It wasn't that long ago [2005-16] where the team missed the playoffs ten times in eleven years.
