US Network FOX heavily promoted and broadcast the 2024 Billboard Music Awards last Thursday from 8-10pm. I watched some of the show and thought it was well done what I saw. No OTA network in Canada picked up the program.
Ratings apparently were a disaster. Only 1.26 million tuned in to FOX for the show. As recently as 2019 the Billboard Awards had a little over 8 million viewers. In fact, other than CBS, all the US OTA nets had a very weak Thursday in prime time... From TV Ratings Guide.. .

"Other than CBS". That is the key. The Eye Network's Thursday lineup crushed all of its competition. Sign of the times when a show with 5-6M viewers can claim total domination in its timeslot. Back in the day, that many viewers would have meant a series quick cancellation.

The pre-Rogers Citytv used to carry this broadcast, did not too bad for us! I was not aware that it aired last Thursday.

Looks like nobody in Canada ran the show this year. Unless Much Music did but I have my doubts. Even in the 18-49 demo with only a 2% share this would be way, way under 1 million viewers.
Sad comment not only on the actual program, but also on music. Like I said, I watched about half an hour and it was well done, with good performances, excellent audio, engaged audience, and most of the nominees/winners in the auditorium.
