Some of the giants of Canadian media are going after the creators of ChatGPT for using their material without permission or compensation in training the bot. Also in the suit: The Globe and Mail and Metroland Newspapers.
"OpenAI is capitalizing and profiting from the use of this content, without getting permission or compensating content owners," and claim that OpenAI "regularly breaches copyright" by using content from Canadian media outlets for products such as ChatGPT."
This could be just the opening salvo in a war on the new technology.

Just because you can do it (use AI I mean) doesn't mean you should use it.
