According to Radio World, while they're still for sale, they're no longer a factor.
Are Internet Radios Still a Thing?

They were a fun “in-between” technology. Quite redundant now.

That's basically what I use my smart speakers for and I do have a few of my older backup tablets and an old smartphone that I use for doing the same things

re: "Are Internet Radios Still a Thing?"
For me? .. absolutely. I've got 2 Ocean Digital WR-336N internet radios .. by my bedside & in the kitchen .. they're both used daily.
There's a GUI interface (via the IP address you assign the radio) where you can store radio stream URLs right on the radio. So while Ocean Digital does use the SkyTune radio station aggregator, the ability to have stored stream URLs safeguards you from aggregator issues or demise.
The Radio Stream Directory is a great source for stream URLs.
Music City Roadhouse (Nashville), Aardvark Blues (Texas) & Radio Bob (Germany) are some of my music listening mainstays.
I use the Upnp capability to access playlists on my desktop. My Standup Comedy playlist (800+ routines) for late night .. this is my Funny 820 replacement. And I grab my kitchen unit (it's 'portable' with it's built-in battery) & take to the basement to listen to my Workout Playlist while on the treadmill.

I had a Logitech. It no longer works. I now have SONOS and it works with everything. A bit of a learning curve but the audio is tremendous. Especially for NYthespirit. Geets was visiting the other day. He enjoyed. :-)

I love my internet radios. My main one is a Mondo plus, hooked hp to my Bose stereo and my battery operated one is in my bedroom.
I had a Sanyo, but it passed on after 14 years.
