I was tuning around the dial Saturday and was curious about what my old favourite Bizarro radio station CFAJ St. Catharines was up to. To my surprise, I heard a top of the hour I.D. at 9 AM - but not for CFAJ. Instead it was a generic "The following program is not the opinion of Sauga 960."
Turns out it was a simulcast of The Greg Carrasco Show which originates on the Mississauga station. I believe there are a few other shows CFAJ shares with 960, which is a bit of surprise, paid time or otherwise. (I think a show called "Spilling The Tea" is also on both stations at the same time.)
The first thing Carrasco said on his show - and the last thing I heard because I turned it off - was "Hello Toronto!"
I'm sure that went over well in St. Kitts for whoever was listening.

I thought this was deja vu, since we had already discussed it. But here's what we observed last time:

Completely forgot about that thread. It was the first time I actually heard the simulcast, so it did make an impression. It is certainly a weird kind of partnership - a small oldies station in St. Catharines and an obscure talk outlet in Mississauga. But hey, they have to fill the airtime somehow and paid time is paid time.

Okay, well, you see, in order for a station to be worth 3 million US dollars (assuming this is the AM station for sale) it needs the best possible content to maximize it's potential.
(As I still scratch my head trying to figure out how they got that 5.5 million dollar starting value, let alone this 3 million dollar price)

Carrasco buys the time on both , I would think it is easy $ for both stations. Saturday mornings on AM is usually some sort of infotainment type broadcsat, at least his show is live and takes callers. I don't mind it so much, I just never remember to tune in, altho I have to do it via my laptop now that I am out of the southern Ontario region.
