Saturday Night Still A Big Dead Zone For US OTA Networks

Seems like more and more prime time evenings are not drawing well in the ratings for US OTA networks.  Last Saturday in prime time only one network show had over 2 million viewers 8-11pm.  CW actually had higher numbers than FOX.  But both only had a little over 200,000 viewers.  With these numbers, some affiliates would have basically nobody watching.   This past Saturday evening was religated to secondary sport leagues and repeats of shows from earlier in the week on the American OTA networks.  SNL was the star at 11:30 with 4.58 million viewers for NBC.

Yes gone are the days when Saturday night was appointment viewing. MTM, Bob Newhart and Carol Burnett gave CBS a one, two three punch that NBC and ABC had no answer for. Plus the move to the 8:30 slot after All In the Family saved M.A.S.H. from certain cancellation.
