Most Watched TV Event Of 2023 Takes An Astonishing 93 Of Top 100 Shows

It won't surprise you that it's football. Mostly NFL but also college. Although I go crazy when there's non-stop pigskin follies on the major networks every week, clearly I'll have to get used to it. In a list of the most watched events on network TV for 2023, an amazing 93 of them involved football.

Only the State of The Union, the Academy Awards, and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade broke the monopoly in the Top 60, with the highest ranking regular series - Fox's "Top Level Chef," which if memory serves was the lead out for the Super Bowl - coming in at 92.

That is an amazing showing, although the fact that regular programming wasn't available because of the writers and actors' strikes, may have played a factor.

And for football haters like me? Well, I guess it's on to pre-taped programming - or maybe I'll just read a book!

The only time a foot is supposed to touch a 'football', in North America, is when a kicker makes contact.

Everywhere else in the World, use ONLY your foot to touch a 'football'.

Go figure. 😄

Thank god for streaming. There's more entertainment out there than one could consume in five lifetimes.
