Emirates Airlines has its own cellular connectivity ("OnAir" provided by Inmarsat) available on its A380 (and possibly other models).

It VERY expensive, similar to roaming on a cruise ship.

I saw my carrier change on my phone while the plane was still parked on the apron at Pearson.  The few minutes I was connected cost me $5.00 in roaming fees, before I switched to Airplane Mode.

Bowen let it slip at the start of the game last night, discussing the atmosphere in the building that he saw "on the monitor"

I was driving back from school and caught the 2nd period en-route.  Bowen didn't just "let it slip", he took a lot of not-so-subtle jabs at the situation.

On Frankish's last day on BT, they showed "goodbye" messages/posts from ex-colleagues who were working for the competition.  (Of course, no branding was visible).

I suppose sometimes they can respectfully cross that line.  (I'm not in the industry)

As an F1 fan, I find it interesting that British media will refer to people from their competition as "colleagues".  For example, when Sky Sports' Martin Brundle or Ted Kravitz run into someone from F1TV, or the infamous run-in with Channel 4's David Coulthard where they briefly interviewed each other during their respective live broadcasts.

I'm still listening to the announcement now.

I know it won't be Stafford taking over, considering he's in a legal battle with Chorus.

But it would have been nice.

I think either at least one host needed to change slots for personal reasons, or Oakley's audience wasn't enjoying Sharan's content.

I'm leaning towards the latter.

I'd like to know too.  Stafford is the reason I started listening to AM radio.

At face value, this is a terrible reason for anyone to quit their job.  I'm surprised Corus didn't take action against the commenters, or at least publicly address this together with SD.

I wasn't a big fan of hers in this particular role, but GNR640 is obviously trying to get a younger demographic and I respect her taking on this challenge.

If GNR640 insist on a Male-Female team to host the morning, Stafford with Tina T were pretty funny together (in my opinion).

I heard one of his pre-recorded ads for Jiffy this morning.  However, the normal "Shurman in for Stafford" was replaced with "Shurman in for the morning crew".  He made a couple of mentions that Staff might be back tomorrow "depending on his disposition"

I certainly hope he's not going anywhere.  I've been a fan since the Mojo Days.  One particular topic that stuck to my juvinile mind during the drive home was a call-in segment where male and female listeners were asked to call in with their favourite euphemisms for self-pleasure.  ("Slaying the Beast" comes to mind).  After a crappy day at work, I laughed all the way home!

Fast n' Furious Fridays were great, along with the Happy Endings!   

Although that's gone, I'm happy for him to get the morning gig in whatever form it's in.

I don't know the radio business very well.  I'm just a casual fan.
If this really is due to some unfortunate tweets, I'm thinking this might be some sort of short adminstrative leave or suspension "pending an investigation" or some other HR BS.  Social Media can be a job killer nowadays.
