Frequent Toronto Radio Panelist Passes

As a politician, Chris Stockwell annoyed me. As a radio panelist, however, he was terrific. He was a frequent guest on both CFRB and AM 640 and I wondered why he suddenly disappeared from the air.

The answer sadly came on Monday, when it was revealed he passed away from cancer at the still young age of 60. His death has been noted in many of the local papers, of course, but I’ve yet to find any mention of his post-political radio work (although both stations have mentioned his contributions to their programming.) He was very entertaining and the few times he filled in as a host on 640 during their “vacation musical chairs,” I thought he was great.

I will miss his frequent “ding ding ding!” that he often used to try to make a point. He was marvelously entertaining and I’m sad that his voice has been silenced.
