Jim Richards celebrates his 20th anniversary on Newstalk 1010 today

Congratulations to Jim Richards who joined the esteemed Newstalk 1010 family twenty years ago today.

Jim modestly mentioned his anniversary on his show, turning it into a classic radio bit and Mayor John Tory called to mark the occasion.

Few people last that long on-air, in broadcasting, and these days, in any company.

Keep doing what you do Jim, well done sir.

From the Richmond Hill Ontario Richards.

I remember when Jim hosted "the nightside" from 12am-3am.  It was a hoot.

Those were in the good old days.

Not that they would ever want to go back to those shifts; but I always  felt that Oakley and Richards; when they did late night; on 'RB were at their best.  It was like early Letterman for the ears.

I remember when Jim was the morning guy on Rock 95 in Barrie. He used his real last name back then. He is such a good guy and has had a great radio career.

I am lucky to have worked with him for 3 of his 20 years (and counting) at Newstalk.
