No amount of over the air or in-store advertising is going to convince me to eat those roller hot dogs that they peddle. 🤨

I ate one of those, not at 7/11, but at a truck stop in GA. The most tasteless thing I've evr had in my mouth.

I can honestly say I have never set foot inside a 7-11. The closest location to me was a now closed store at Avenue Rd and Lawrence. I rarely had a need to travel that far south on Avenue Rd.

Same with me. The last 7-11 I was in and bought something would have been about 30 years ago. Wherever I have lived there never were that many around.

A lot of larger retailers are offering a radio like service today. Sobeys, LCBO, Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger are a few that come to mind. They include recorded ads during the music sets to tell you about something on sale or a promotion. They sometime chop songs though, bring up the announcement and then finish the tune.

LCBO seems to have a few variations or they alter the music depending on time of day. They have interesting music choices too, mixed in with a few hits. A few times at my local Sobeys last summer in the evening, the music seemed to be like a dance party, electric music.

To be honest, I haven't noticed the type of music being played in retail establishments. Most of the time, I only need a few items, so I am in and out rather quickly. Gone are the days when every doctor/dentist office and grocery store played the dreaded [to a teen] "Elevator Music".
