After 44 years of calling baseball games, Bob Costas is officially quitting the gig. The veteran sports broadcaster will still contribute segments for the MLB Network, but his days of sitting in front of a mic relaying balls and strikes are over. He'd most recently been working this year's Division playoffs for U.S. cable channel TBS.

For me this article is behind a paywall. I always enjoyed his late night show "Later with Bob Costas" when I could see it. For some reason WGRZ refused to carry it. I had to rely on tropo reception from Erie, Rochester or Syracuse to watch it. Not terribly reliable.

Good to watch a couple of interviews with Terri Garr on"Later" with Costas. The first one about Elvis, Jack Nicholson and the Monkees.

I went down the rabbit hole this morning and found two more interesting "Later" interviews with Robert Vaughn and Steve Allen.
