Smart move by the producers. Less meth availability than in Port Perry.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the TV series Good Witch do a good deal of its outdoor filming in and around Hamilton? (Ditto The Good Witch series of TV movies.)

Correct In the town of  Dundas where Hamilton collects the garbage and taxes.

With the grinding poverty, the rundown buildings, the vacant lots, the coal powered steel mills, the industrial pollution, the dilapidated factories, the strung out vagrants roughing it by the side of the roads, in the parks, under the bridges, the cesspool that is Hamilton, ON is a total Dickensian hellscape updated from the Victorian era to the 21st century that is perfect for making Christmas movies.  A Christmas Carol was practically written to be filmed there!

When I was at McMaster in the early 1970's, my friends in Toronto would always joke, Hamilton: Isn't that the city on the other side of Mississauga where steel and pollution come from? If you were driving to Niagara Falls over the Skyway Bridge and glanced to the right, I can see where people might get that impression of Tiger Cat Town.

On a day like today, coming down from the mountain, Hamilton looks pretty nice.  I have had a few friends who  moved to Hamilton over the years and they all seem to like living there fine.

I have not been to Hamilton since July of 1997 when I was roused from my bed in Toronto at 4 a.m. to cover the massive Plastimet warehouse fire.
It burned for days colouring the sky black with smoke over Hamilton.
But I guess that wasn't Hamilton's fault per se.

I'm jealous. I believe that show is one of the most widely bootlegged PF shows and considered one of their best performances ever.

Westdale, near McMaster, is quite nice.

I was at the concert as well, along with 4 highschool friends.  A beautiful summer night, unforgettable music and performance.  A real highlight of my youth.

I'm a life-long member of the United Steelworkers. For me, a trip to Hamilton is like a pilgrimage.
