As John Moore handed off to the awful Agar this morning, (the time I tune out) Moore mentioned something I feel was kind of am ill advised comment.
They were talking about terrible Toronto traffic when Moore suddenly interjected that he does not use designated bike lanes, instead he swerves over into regular car lane traffic on his bike because the bike lanes have too many ebikes etc in them.
Agar started to admonish him for contributing to the problems by not taking the bike lanes that he is meant to use.
Moore changed the subject and it was discussed no further.
Sorry John Moore, but your admission reveals you to be just another entitled bike riding a%%$$hole.  Shame on you.

Moore is an entitled downtown fop, Agar is a motorcyle-enthusiast meathead.  Sometimes, the twain shall meet.

The bike lanes have gone nuts with all manner of powered bikes and scooters and motorcycles, largely silent - you can't hear them. I've witnessed this as a downtown pedestrian. They're also using sidewalks. It's the wild west... I wouldn't feel safe on a bicycle in a bike land. This certainly wasn't what was intended for bike lanes. And there's no political will to enforce the rules...

Additionally, there are way more cars stopping, parking, or passing in the bike lanes. In some cases using the road isn't entitlement, it's the only safe option.

This is one of my biggest of all pet peeves - bicycles and e-scooters on the sidewalk. I get it - it feels and likely is a lot safer out of traffic. At least for them. As a pedestrian walking my dog on there I cannot tell you how many close calls I (and my pooch) have had over the years. And it gets worse and worse and worse every year. I've complained to my local councillor, but nothing is ever done.

Many of them see pedestrians as an impediment, something in their way, and they don't care that they're not supposed to be there. You're a roadblock and I'm going through you.

It's incredible looking back that neither me nor my leashed best friend have been hit or hurt over the years. But they haven't missed by much.

The stupidest incident I've ever had came earlier this year, when I was walking down a quiet sidewalk off Steeles when something told me to look behind me. I was absolutely aghast that some idiot in an e-bike that was built completely enclosed in the shape of a car was barrelling down on us and we had no idea. He almost ran us over and I even reported it to the cops. But by the time we got home, he was long gone.

I know this isn't radio related, but just for the record, I'm not anti-bike. In fact, I'm an avid cyclist, regularly pedalling just over 1,000 miles (not kilometres, miles) a year. All on the road. And I think I'm the only one who stops at all stop signs, obeys the traffic lights, gives motorists the right of way and never, ever rides on the sidewalks,

It's called a sidewalk you idiots, not a side ride. Get off of it!

You wouldn't get me on a bike weaving in and out of Toronto traffic. I am surprised there are not more cyclist killed.

Most of the time, the traffic doesn't move fast enough for that to happen.
