I stumbled on this NBCUniversal site that is very long but very interesting if you're a student of TV and radio history. It's a look at a long timeline of the origins of NBC from the early 1900s to today, with lots of vintage pics.

A fun scroll if you have a minute - and probably, a lot more.

David Letterman and Johnny Carson scrubbed from NBCUniversal's history, evidently.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that.

Carson is mentioned, but only in a passing connection with Jay Leno taking over for him.

I can sort of understand why they left out Letterman, since he become a huge star for CBS and was a strong competitor. But not giving Carson his due is unforgiveable.

Agree, and the fact that some years The Tonight Show and Johnny Carson pretty much carried the network.

Another omission is The Cosby Show, which was an iconic sitcom for its time. Of course, this omission is very understandable.
