The 2025 Juno's are in Vancouver, in a move to pare down the categories the brain trust of the National music awards decided to cut the Reggae, Christian/Gospel and kids music categories.

Well, as you can imagine, that didn't go over to well and they have re-instated the three categories after all.

"The Juno Awards are reversing course on their plan to shelve three awards after strong blowback from the music community, .Junos head Allan Reid posted a message on his Instagram Tuesday saying that given the feedback the organization has decided to reinstate the categories for the 2025 show."

Here is more on the turnaround

I guess, if the cuts to the children's music awards went through, it would have prevented international artist, Taylor Swift from winning anything...she could be considered kids music!    Damn!!!

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

I am not sure why this was such a big deal.  The raggae, gospel, children's awards were not part of the broadcast ceremony anyway.  They have been part of the "other" awards that include a lot of technical recognition, and other industry achievements.  These are held a few days before the broadcast awards show.  They often list them as.."awards were given out earlier for..." and then take about 20 seconds to list who won and in what category.

I think it's more about losing the representation.

I think it's more about nobody giving a rat's ass.
