The free streamer, owned by Corus, has announced it will be adding several new channels to its Canadian operation, which is free online.

The newcomers are also available on CBC Gem, but the advantage of Pluto is there's no sign up required to watch anything.

The new channels are: CBC Explore, its online national news station, CBC Toronto and Vancouver, local news services serving those cities, and the French language CBC Radio Canada.

There are also two new international freebies, both big names: CNN FAST and Reuters FAST.

Pluto is owned by Paramount, they just partnered with Corus to get into Canada.  A VPN will show different programming from the US.  I understand FAST channels and "free" streamers, but I find the spot load on Pluto excessive when compared to some of the others.  May be just what I tried to watch.

Sitcoms seem to go exactly 30 mins, so I guess they’re going for traditional broadcast spot loads.

I think the spot loads are fine, but the breaks are triggered at seemingly random spots, and not at the points of the show where a commercial break was intended.

I find it varies from show to show, I’ve watched South Park on Pluto and the ads come up at exactly the time I’d expect. While travelling in the US however I watched classic Jeopardy episodes on Pluto and while they’d have an ad at the normal first break, the second ad would always trigger right in the middle of Double Jeopardy instead of during the second break.

I don't see any CBC content on Pluto TV. I am using the web browser. I see CNN Fast, Reuters and MTV Rocks but where on earth is the CBC content?

The link RA shared indicates that all the CBC channels are set to launch "next month" on Pluto TV in Canada.
