Heather Hiscox will be doing her morning show live from Owen Sound city hall on Tuesday Oct. 28th from 6-9am on CBC News Network.  Heather will be doing double duty since she also will be on CFOS radio with morning man Paul Hill.  Owen Sound is her hometown and CFOS was where she began her successful broadcast career.

Heather will be retiring from CBC on November 6th and CFOS shuts down the AM transmitter on Oct 31st to complete the transition to FM at 89.3.  The public is invited to come to city hall to watch the live broadcasts.

Congratulations to Ms. Hiscox on a successful career. I remember when she co-hosted the morning show with Steve Garrison on CJBK 1290 in London. I seem to recall it was called the Steve & Heather Show and was quite well done and ran several years.

Heather was also on air at FM 96 in London and handled afternoon drive and evenings for a number of years.  She was even appearing from time to time weekends and in the summer on CFOS when she was home from Western in London.  I believe she also spent some time at 590/CKEY and AM 600 CIQC (CFCF) in Montreal.   In TV working at CBC Montreal, Global and CHCH TV then finally back to CBC and eventually anchoring the morning show on CBC News Network.

I've been low key crushing on Heather Hiscox for years. What an excellent broadcaster.

She is solid.  CBC will have a tough time choosing someone to replace her.

My hunch is the new CBC Morning Live host will be Natasha Fatah.

Good call, Natasha was positively giddy reporting on the Jays' Game 1 win. Her personality really came through.

I recorded CBC Morning Live with Heather Hiscox.  Lots of radio talk and features about Owen Sound and CFOS AM/FM throughout the show.  Former sports director Fred Wallace was on throughout the morning recapping the big marathon game last night and reminiscing about her time at the station.  Bonnie Holiday former talk show host was a guest who worked with Heather at the station, and Ross Kentner retired station manager who hired Heather back in 1981.  There was a live audience that grew as the four hour broadcast continued.

Interesting was the live simulcast segment with current CFOS morning man "The Great" Paul Hill, and Fred Wallace. Paul had met Heather briefly at CJBK in London when he was applying for a job many years ago.  Paul joked that Heather got the job.  She also did the intro for a song live on CFOS, and yes hit the vocal.

The local paper in Owen Sound was there covering the event.

"The morning was part celebration and part reunion as Hiscox was greeted by old teachers, co-workers from CFOS, where she got her start in broadcasting, those who remember her for being named Miss Teen Canada at 16 years old in 1981, and even a former babysitter.

At one point, Hiscox joked it was beginning to feel like an episode of This is Your Life."

I have watched most of the show on YouTube. They included a lot of local stories and music groups from the High School.
They included CFOS in the back shots as much as they could.
In the simulcast I think Heather will be the last person to introduce a song saying CFOS 560.
For the case of this board, some areas they did not cover was why Bayshore decided to move away from AM radio, Also what its like to not have a local tv station.
Over all the show was well done and showcased the best parts of Owen Sound abd Grey County.
