We just watched the 6:00 news on Global Toronto. During the weather forecast, wherein the main topic of discussion was heat and sunscreen, the weather alert banner scroll as well as the AI voice-over was screaming about possible tornadoes in the upper Great Lakes area.

Meanwhile, the forecaster droned on, never once mentioning possible tornadoes. Huh?

Sticking our heads out the window may be more accurate. 🤣

Why? We expect this of them. And of Bell, Rogers and Corus assets. All effort goes to improving the numbers, not the product.

Very little in a Global newscast is live...   most of the anchor reads and weather segments are precorded for playout during the newscast.  I think the weekday 5:30 to 6:30 show is still live, but late evenings and weekends are not so live....

I think that is the same with CTV London’s newscasts I can’t tell if their weather segments are live or are pre-recorded. From what I understand the 6 and 11PM newcasts are live and the weather segments are ether pre-recorded or live. On the other hand CTV Kitchener’s weather segments are live on the 5 and 6PM newscasts while the 11:30 newscasts is pre-recorded.
