A little closer to home, around 2000-ish, former NHLer Chris Kontos became a sports reporter with Barrie's CKVR during its "New VR" era, and TSN produced an "after the game" segment about Kontos and his work at Channel 3. From the article:

"It's been a really good experience," Clutterbuck said. "I would probably come again. It's a fun day and a half to just sharpen the tools a little bit.

A day and a half? That's it? They could easily flesh this out to, pardon the pun, cover all the bases.
