The former sportscaster is retired now, but has some great memories of his days in broadcasting. He goes over them with John Best, the former news director of CHCH-TV. (Don't let the article's headline fool you - this is more about the great Mayberry than Joe Bowen!)

Had the pleasure of working with Maybo at Key 590, you would be pretty hard pressed to find a more upstanding and all around nice person.

Indeed, a class act. He used to be a regular contributor here, but hasn't posted in a while. You're welcome back anytime, Chris!

It's great to hear that Maybo is doing well. I worked with him for many years at BN/CP and he was always a joy to be around.

RA, Pinto & Tq345, thanks so very much for the kind words.  I’m humbled!  Retirement is enjoyable and I still get to dabble in volunteer radio here in Stouffville.

John Best was an excellent broadcast journalist in London, Montreal and Hamilton.  He’s a cherished friend and his newspaper is always an excellent read.  😊

I chatted with Chris Mayberry for almost 90 minutes about his life in radio.

As another former co-worker of Chris at BN (and apparently of Tq345 also -- I remember what that refers to) I can vouch for Chris fully deserving all of these tributes and kind words.
