I especially liked the reference to OJ Simpson and the scene in the kitchen. I had my doubts about doing this without Leslie Nielsen, but this actually looks promising. See what you think. And don't call anyone Shirley.

It's still Naked Gun. Not Naked Gun 2...hopefully that will come next year.
The first trailer was also funny.

This looks good and stupid! It will be fun to watch Neeson in a comedic role. I enjoyed the original two movies plus the tv series. I just realized that the lead actors, Liam Neeson and Leslie Nielsen, both have the same initials, the coffee is kicking in…..!

The TV series is overall far funnier than the movies.

Agreed. Too bad there are only six episodes. What many don't know is Police Squad is a satire of the 1957-60 Lee Marvin cop show M-Squad that ran on NBC. The two theme songs are eerily similar. A few of the scripts too.

Mildly amusing, but it doesn't compare with the original, not even close.

One of my favourite lines from the tv series. "Sorry, we would have been here sooner, but your husband wasn't dead then"

I'm cautiously optimistic. The director - Akiva Schaffer - is one of the Lonely Island guys and has done some good work.

I thought the police car trying to park and knocking over the garbage at the start of each Police Squad tv episode was a nice touch!

This looks hot.  Hot garbage that is.  Who thought turning Frank Drebin into an action hero would be a good idea?  Not the creators of the original Police Squad/Naked Gun.  Their Drebin was a clumsy, amiable oaf who would literally stumble into solving (or not) a crime.  This Drebin is a parody of Neeson’s action hero persona (itself a parody).
I never thought I’d find myself calling Zucker/Abrahams/Zucker restrained but even they would call shenanigans on the over the top violence this Police Squad squeezes out like compacted feces.

I guess you're not jazzed up for the 'Toxic Avenger' reboot.

Heh, if Lloyd Kaufman is involved, sure why not?
