Despite attempts to light the fuse on so-called Next Gen TV, aka ATSC 3.0, it so far hasn't exactly been in demand by viewers or new television set purchasers. Now there's a new wrinkle - it's called Game Loop and it's only available in TV tuners capable of receiving the new broadcasting standard.

Is it something you can't live without? Personally, I can't see ever using it. But you can decide for yourself.

ATSC 3.0 TVs just got a huge upgrade — and it might be a gamechanger

Video games delivered via channels? This demands simplistic games and controls; ie, can be controlled with your remote. Not for me, and not for any "hardcore gamer", who will be more than happy to stick with their current PC/Dedicated Console set up.

Yeah, it seems like a case of "because we can" - as often happens at the onset of new technologies.

Seems kind of pointless. I doubt most people are going to buy an ATSC 3 tuner and are likeliker to just encounter the technology while buying a new TV. It's genuinely hard to find new TVs that aren't preloaded with an App Store running the same calibre of games natively.
