So, the Door Dash ad song is a kids song, but boy it is catchy

I found it...I found the jingle for the Door Dash commercial, this is the more original version of 2 kids playing a hand game and chanting the jingle.

I find the ad pretty catchy and would love to know who sings it, in the commercials...

Talk about singing for your supper.

Now I don’t feel too much like a nerd as I “Shazammed” this song earlier this past winter,  the commercial(s) were in high rotation and I had never heard that track before!

The  nifty ad campaign, dancers and all, was produced in Toronto for Door Dash Canada. https://lbbonline.com/news/doordash-canadas-choreographed-creative-turns-order-anticipation-into-dazzling-dance-moves

Birds of a feather…..! I’ve actually Shazammed a few commercials in the past year or two and the songs are usually fairly obscure, and the artists too for that matter! You know, I wish I had Shazam a few decades back, it sure is handy for this kind of thing! Nerd On!

Another tune used in a commercial that I think is very catchy is "Are You Havin' Any Fun" which is used in an ad for the new Volkswagen minivan EV.

It caused me to investigate and it turns out it's a recording from the 1950s by none other than the late Broadway legend Elaine Stritch.

As the old folks (myself included) say, it's a real toe-tapper.

I don't know if it is the song, the visuals or both, but whenever the Volkswagen (any fun) or the various Door Dash ads come on, I always stop to watch.  And I have seen them many times.

I find the song catchy but I don't get the dancing aspect at all - some of them seem to be in convulsions trying to get to the door. Door Dash does seem to find good, hook-y songs to use...the recent use of Sam & Dave's "Hold On, I'm Coming" comes to mind.

I wondered about that song too, so I asked Google Assistant and played the song to my phone and Bingo!    The band is from Georgia I believe and it was recorded in the 1960s.   It's interesting to note that my search for the band didn't turn up this song at all but they had a few other hits, making me wonder if it was originally a 'B' side.

The Doordash ad is like nails on a blackboard to me. Same with the Volkswagen ad.

I think the first time I saw both of them (Door Dash and Volkswagen) was during the Super Bowl on TSN/CTV.  They had a lot of new commercials during the game.
