The station was recently sold to WECK owner Buddy Shula and now the AM outlet at 1270 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., long known as WHLD, is getting new call letters.

The replacement, starting June 1st, will be WUSW, with Shula proclaiming the choice is a tribute to the United States. Shula still won't say exactly what format his latest AM bauble will occupy, but he does confirm "the call letters will be representative of the new format that will be launched.”

It's currently been running Conservative talk shows, and this latest hint has to make you wonder if it will stay that way.

Shula did drop some obscure hints about what he's planning on the Buffalo section of the Radio Discussions Board. He maintains no one has guessed right yet about what's coming. We'll know for sure in about a week.
