It's been a while since there's been much original programming on AM640 weekends, following Roy Green's retirement. That changes on Saturday, with the debut of a new show dedicated to food. Popular and frequent talk show guest Sylvain Charlebois, who has become known as The Food Professor, will be co-hosting along with a marketing expert, a show called "Bite Sized."

The talk show will encompass everything from how certain foods are marketed to the ways it gets from the farm to your kitchen table, likely also dealing with the never-ending price increases at the grocery store.

It will air beginning April 12th at 2 PM on AM640, with CFPL running it earlier at nine in the morning. The show airs at varying times on other Corus stations across the country.

It's not permanent, though. The show is only scheduled to run for the next six weeks. Whether it's back to weekend rerolls after that remains to be seen - and heard.

Sounds to me like they're just going to run this podcast:

Could be. But at least it's original content on the weekend, and not a Ben Mulroney playback.

Charlebois writes several columns each week dealing with similar issues for the Sun.

Sounds interesting for about one weekend, not every weekend.  Generally, I change stations whenever Charlebois, 'Science guy' Dan Riskin or 'Gas price guru' Dan McTeague comes on.  After a while, it all sounds the same, and gets boring.

Charley Boy is nothing more than a known paid shill for Loblaws and Dal, and publicly attacks other academics, esp. when he doesn't agree with them or they call him on his BS. Leave it to Corus to give this twit airtime... I thought maybe Bell would have done this too.

Yeah. Always be suspicious of 'experts' who lean heavily on trite catchphrase branding for their identity.
