Good to see Law and Order Toronto and many others get the nod for their work.

Will there be a social media debate re: a certain show or performer should've been nominated?

Is there a version of 'Murdoch Mysteries- The Next Generation' yet? 🤔

Unlike Endeavour Morse needing two actors to portray the character over different time periods, Yannick Bisson will be able to embody Murdoch into his golden years. 😁

At least the public has had a chance to view the nominated TV shows.  Sad how domestic movies  often have almost no chance getting into theatres in their own country.

I can quite honestly say that I haven’t heard of any of the movies nominated, got to get out more!
Surprised “Son of a Critch” wasn’t nominated in the television categories, I thought it was fairly popular.

That tends to be the problem with the nominated movies.  Nobody has heard of them or seen them.  Canadian movies have problems getting into theatres for general release, so the public doesn't really have much of a chance to view them in the first place.

This is a bit like radio in the 50's and 60's when stations with the exception of a few like CHUM didn't play any Canadian songs unless they had become popular in the US.  Pretty sad IMO.

The only exception of course is Quebec, where theatres will play locally produced movies and some become quite popular and even hits in Quebec.  The province does have a viable local movie industry, and some of their movies even move on to be nominated for Academy Awards.

I am finding Son of a Critch has lost some of it's charm this season. Mainly the lead role of Mark. As the young man has gotten older, and taller, I'm finding his acting is not as natural as in previous seasons. The rest of the cast are great in my opinion.

I too have felt that it has slipped a bit. I have three episodes recorded and still have to watch them, usually I don’t let stuff sit that long. I have noticed though that Malcolm McDowell seems to be featured more this season, which is fine by me! Still, I will watch the season, which ends soon.

This week's episode was the best of this season so far. Malcom was featured and I actually got abit emotional in the scene between him and Mark near the end  , thinking of my own experience.
