It's by no means a new special, but if you haven't seen it before, it's new to you. WNED is showing a documentary called "Deconstructing The Beatles," featuring a Fab Four researcher with behind the scenes stories you may have never heard before.

Here's the official description from the WNED website:

"Acclaimed "Beatle-ologist" Scott Freiman guides you, step by step, on an educational journey through several of The Beatles' milestone albums and the fascinating stories that accompanied them. No matter how much you know about the Beatles, there's something new here for you. Episodes include "The Beatles Come to America," "Deconstructing Rubber Soul," "A Trip Through Strawberry Fields."

The 90 minute special airs Wednesday night, March 12th, at 8 PM on Channel 17.

PBS Detroit has a big infomercial with Memory Makeover with Daniel Amen MD.  Something they have shown many times before.  At 10pm it's All New Rock, Pop and Doo Wop. And of course this is all sandwiched between 15 minute fundraising breaks.   This is the "quality" programming that people pay for??  Didn't PBS use to be an educational channel?
