If the Blue Jays manage to win even one game in L.A., it could lead to a very scary Friday night - not because of what's on the line, but because Game 6 would fall on Halloween and return to the Dome. I don't happen to have kids, so it won't affect me. But I'm curious - if you have younger children (or grandkids), this creates quite the dilemma.
You want to see the game, especially if the Jays are somehow in the Series lead, but you may also want to go door-to-door with the younger crowd. There's only so much time for both. So what do you do? Go out early (pre-darkness) and get the kids their loot? Miss the early innings and knock on the doors of neighbours, who are presumably also watching the game? Or take a radio or use your phone to listen to what you'll miss on an earbud?
I'm sure Oct. 31st has inserted itself into the World Series in past years, but the Jays weren't involved in those. It's an interesting problem for parents who want to see their kids have a good time, but don't want to miss what could potentially be one of the biggest Blue Jays games in team history.
Maybe it won't come to that if the Jays sweep (or worse, get swept) in L.A. But I don't think that's likely. So talk about a scary night! If this scenario happens, what are you planning to do?
