This fat guy almost cost the team a game today. Will anyone in the sports world mention it?

What's that got to do with him being fat?

He's too fat to do his job.

I kinda had to laugh at the news story's choice of words, however...
A Montreal radio host has apologized for "making light" of a video of Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk rounding the bases in a game last Tuesday.

Plays better MLB than I ever could.

The “fat” guy just hit a homer. Also, 4 RBI night. Naw, he’ll never make it.

His knees will be shot in two to three years.

I have to confess, at a few minutes before game time, I logged in to SOWNY, and waited…
Had to wait until the bottom of the 8th for Kirk’s three-run capper. But it was worth it.

Blair is cutting this guy up because he can't get to the ball. No mention of why.

And yet he plays baseball in the best league in the world while you do whatever it is that you do. Maybe you're too fat to do your job.

Yes. You're referring to the last game in the TB series. Kirk hit 3 for 4.
No other Jay got more than one.

he just cost the jays another run in what's becoming a lost season.

He had a bad game in May and another one in August causing you race to your keyboard to revive a thread that started over 11 months ago to make a post not related to radio, where you continue to call someone fat, while the rest of the world has decided that kind of thing is regnant. Wow! You really got us! You have won the internet! Let's shut the whole thing down. It can only be downhill from here.
Dear god.

Dear god.
There's nothing wrong with wanting a highly paid athlete to be fit. The guy is killing the team with the team with his hitting into double plays and clogging up the bases. Turn off your woke button.

Oh, eff off. 🤨 He hit a sharp shot to a right fielder playing shallow. That play happens every few years.

Rickey Henderson never caught a game in his 25 seasons in the major leagues, including the 44 games he played for the Blue Jays in 1993.
The question is, during his time in Toronto did Rickey listen to CHOG, as CFTR had flipped to all news a few weeks before he was traded by Oakland to Toronto. Or was Rickey a devotee of Sports Radio The Fan on 1430?

If he did listen to 680, was he hoping CFTR would have transmitter issues and go off the air so he might have a clear shot at KNBR, "the Sports Leader".

I wonder if Rickey ever went over to Devon White's place after Blue Jays games to see if they could catch KNEW carrying the Oakland A's games on 910. Although I guess CKLY might have made things tough for him.

I understand the point you're making but pick a situation that matters more. Two outs, bottom of the ninth, down by six. No comeback was going to happen, no matter how svelte the batter.

Yes, the Jays games on Tuesday and Wednesday were more of an embarrassment. This would include all of the team, not just Kirk.

Didn't CKLY leave 910 for 91.9 so that Rickey could tune in KNEW when in Toronto, and so that you could hear 910 CKDQ Drumhellerhighwater? Not that it matters much anymore, what with CKDQ moving to 92.5 so that Rickey could listen to A's games on 910 when visiting Alberta.

I thought that CKLY didn't move to FM until around 1998, which likely caused a few distraught listeners to jump into the Scugog River. I believe Rickey was back in Oakland that year. So he probably was able to listen to KNBR in the dugout with teammate Matt Stairs, as long as it didn't disturb manager Art Howe.
