How To Watch Every CFL Game For Free Even If You Don't Have TSN

If you're a CFL fan and you have a VPN, you can watch every league game on a new, free streaming service.

It's not available in North America, to protect CBS sports in the U.S. (which recently signed a deal for select Canadian Football League games) or in Canada, where they're shown on TSN.

But a league press release notes that, in a move to help spread the popularity of the Canuck version of football, a streaming service called CFL+ will let any viewer around the world watch any game anywhere for free. According to the CFL, here's how it works:

  • Sign up with your first name, last name, and email address to access in-season games.
  • You will not be asked to login in again so long as you continue to watch on the same device.
  • The stream will start no later than five minutes prior to kickoff. You will see a screen that says “this broadcast will start soon.”
  • Once the game ends, you will see a screen that says “this broadcast has ended” and the feed will end shortly after.
  • You will not be able to rewatch the game, pause, or rewind/fast forward through any point in the stream.

But it should be a simple matter of setting your VPN to say, the U.K. and watching that way if you choose. Here's the list of all the games you'll be able to see and when, even if you don't have TSN.

Interesting.  The entire TSN schedule of games was on ESPN+ last year and the Grey Cup was sometimes shown on ESPN 2.

ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPN+ up until the coming season has been a partner with the CFL and have broadcast every CFL game since 1980.

I don't think they carried every single game before ESPN+ came along.  I could be wrong but I had a big C-band dish for years and only saw an occasional game on tape delay on ESPN 2.
