Sitcoms We Watched Hid These Details From The Audience

This is very long but pretty interesting for anyone who grew up watching 50s or 60s TV. Some of them are well known - like how Frances Bavier aka Aunt Bee on the Andy Griffith Show was a real pain in the drain.

But others are real revelations. The Scooby Doo Gang based on Dobie Gillis? News to me. Lost In Space's most famous phrase was only said one time in one episode. Who knew? And Elizabeth Mongomery really couldn't twitch her nose? I always thought she could. Those and other details are in the article linked below. 

My suggestion if you're going to look at it - use the full screen option. It's a lot easier to read that way.

This article, by the way, is from a fascinating site called "Colorized," which features old photos and iconic scenes, often with added colour, from the history of photography. Worth a look, but be warned. This is the very definition of a classic time waster.
