Just looking at some TV ratings for Monday showing the iHeart Music Awards on FOX with about 1.9 million viewers. Did anyone run this awards show here? CTV use to along with either MUCH or MTV, but I can't find anywhere that the program ran anywhere in Canada on Monday. Since Bell has the association with iHeart I would assume it would have ran on one of it's channels. Maybe I missed it somewhere, it is hard to find out what played days ago.
On line it says the show is available in Canada on FOX which would indicate no simsub. If the awards show didn't run on any Bell channels, makes you wonder if the association with iHeart is coming to an end? Does anyone know more about this?

Online!
I just checked the Star Week (see - it is good for something!) that comes with Saturday's newspaper. It lists only Fox as a network carrying it in North America. There is no Canadian broadcast or cable channel listed for it anywhere.
Not sure why, but ratings for most awards shows, while still attracting an audience, have been steadily shrinking over the years. There are now reports this could be the first time in decades there will be no American Music Awards show at all, primarily over a scheduling conflict. But I suspect if it were really worth their time, the producers and the networks would find a way around this dilemma. They don't seem to be searching too hard. The AMA's have been presented every year since 1973. That means it will miss its milestone 50th anniversary.
American Music Awards will take a sabbatical: could they disappear due to low ratings?

Hahaha..I sometimes pick up a Saturday Star and almost never look at the StarWeek. Didn't buy a Star last Saturday and I would have likely blueboxed the StarWeek yesterday.
Shame if the AMA's don't happen this year and especially for the 50th Anniversary. Interesting that the American Music Awards were created by Dick Clark back in '73 for ABC. The network had lost the rights to the Grammy Awards to CBS and Dick came up with the American Music Awards as a rival to the Grammy's.
In 1989 the AMA's had slightly over 33 million viewers and last year 3.53 million tuned in. The AMA's have been on ABC every year since 1973. And CBS is still the home for The Grammy Awards.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Despite the iHeart relationship, Bell would have still had to pay for it. They likely determined that it couldn't recover the cost if they aired it on MUCH, and wouldn't out-rate the already paid for night of SimSubs on CTV.
