After a long absence from the music business Toronto's Amanda Marshall is releasing her first album in over 20 years this summer. The first single comes out on Friday. Marshall was a mainstay on Canadian radio in the mid 90's with eight top ten songs. Her first album sold over one million copies in Canada which is a diamond album, and the two follow up albums sold over 300,000 copies each.
In addition to the new release, Amanda will be touring Canada this summer. Details from exclaim!

She was booked as the closer at Belleville's Waterfront Festival in the 90's and demanded to go on earlier than scheduled or she wouldn't play at all. She got her wish and also refused to do a meet and greet with radio station contest winners after her performance and left immediately. Hopefully two decades of obscurity have helped the ego shrink to its proper size.
