Former Kids' TV Show Star Running For U.S. Congress

There has long been a relationship between fame and politics, and it's demonstrated again in this latest announcement. The star of the old ABC show "Boy Meets World," which ran between 1993 and 2000, has announced he plans to run for Congress in the U.S.

Ben Savage, who played "Cory Matthews" on the sitcom, is also the brother of Fred Savage, who was the star of the original "Wonder Years." He's registered as a Democrat.

It's always weird to think of these people who you remember as a little kid actually growing up and making a leap for a very different kind of brass ring. At least he has some political savvy - he graduated from Stanford with a degree in political science and has previously run unsuccessfully for local office in L.A.

If you ever watched the show you may also be wondering: what would Mr. Feeny have to say about this?
